Delete your WagWatch account and data
App: WagWatch (com.wagwatch.app)
You can delete your WagWatch account at any time. Deletion is permanent and removes your account together with the pet records you own — there is no recovery step and no grace period.
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app
- Open WagWatch and sign in.
- Go to the More tab.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Type
DELETEto confirm.
You are signed out immediately and everything stored on your device is cleared. Server-side deletion runs straight away.
Option 2 — request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email support@wagwatch.app from the address on your account with the subject Delete my account. We will verify the request and delete the account within 30 days.

Shared households
If you were the only member of your household, the household and every pet in it are deleted with your account.
If you shared a household with other caregivers, the household and its pets remain so their records are not destroyed for everyone else. Your membership, your profile and your credentials are still deleted, and you lose all access. Events you logged stay in the shared pet's history, since that history belongs to the household rather than to you alone.
Retention
- Deletion of your account data happens immediately, not on a delay.
- Any vet-report PDF or data-export file you generated is held in temporary storage and is automatically deleted 7 days after it was created.
- Technical logs of the app's requests to our servers — one line per request recording the time, the address called, your IP address, your device's user agent and your account's internal id, plus application error logs — are kept for 30 days for reliability and security, then removed automatically. They are never used for advertising or profiling, and because the 30 days runs from when each line is written, some can outlast your account by up to 30 days.
- A few records deliberately survive, because they are not yours alone or because we need them to keep the deletion honest: any support or feedback message you sent us stays in our support inbox — email support@wagwatch.app if you want yours removed as well; a marker recording that this account was deleted is kept indefinitely, holding only the account's internal id and the dates, so that a request still in flight cannot recreate the account; and if you held a temporary pass in someone else's household, the owner's list of past guests may still show the email you used.
- When an account is created, and when a subscription starts, a free trial turns into a paid subscription, or a subscription moves to another account, we email ourselves a short notice so we know it happened. The sign-up notice holds the account's email address, name and internal id; a subscription notice also names the household, the plan, the price and the store's country. Deleting your account does not reach those emails: they stay in our own inbox until you ask — email support@wagwatch.app and we will delete yours.
- The apps' analytics record is erased on each service's own schedule. The analytics services the iPhone and Android apps use — PostHog and Google Analytics for Firebase, and HeyCatch in app versions up to and including 1.3.10, described in the privacy policy — keep their own record of how the apps were used. Deleting your account asks PostHog and Google Analytics to erase what they had recorded under your account: PostHog says it removes the profile, usually within minutes, and deletes the recorded events in a batch it runs at weekends; Google says the data stops appearing within 24 hours and is permanently removed within 63 days. Deleting your account does not reach HeyCatch yet: email support@wagwatch.app when you delete your account, or any time after, and we will erase your HeyCatch record for you.
Want a copy first?
Deletion cannot be undone. If you want your records before you go, use More → Export Data in the app to download everything as a ZIP (JSON plus CSV) before deleting.
