How to use the app, and what to do when something is not working. If you cannot find your answer here, send us a message — a real person reads it.
WagWatch is a shared daily logbook for your pet. You record small things as they happen — a meal, a medication, a potty break, how the day went — and the app turns that stream into history and trends you can show a vet.
There are three ways in, and they all show the same data: the iPhone app, the Android app, and the web app at app.wagwatch.app (any modern browser, phones included).
No. Logging is never limited, and the free plan covers one pet's daily care forever, with the last 90 days of history, trends, reminders, household sharing, and a full data export. Premium adds the long view and the extras — see Premium and billing.
Yes. Sign in with the same account and everything syncs. Reminders are delivered as push notifications to phones, so keep the mobile app installed if you rely on them.
Tap the log button, choose what happened, and save. Every event carries a time you can adjust, so you can record something an hour after it happened.
| What you can log | Useful for |
|---|---|
| Meals | Appetite changes, food switches, portion tracking |
| Potty breaks | Digestive and urinary patterns — often the first sign something is off |
| Medications | Proving a course was actually finished, and when doses were missed |
| Medical | Symptoms and anything you would otherwise try to remember at the vet |
| Behavior | Anxiety, limping, restlessness — the changes that are easy to dismiss one day at a time |
| Day and night ratings | The overall trend, which is what makes a chart readable |
Open the event from your history and edit it, or delete it there. Edits apply everywhere immediately, including for other people in your household.
Yes — a skin spot, a meal, anything worth a picture. Attach it when you log the event, or add, replace, and remove it later by editing the event. Photos are part of Premium. If a Premium period ends, photos you already attached stay viewable; you just cannot add new ones until you resubscribe.
The mobile apps queue what you logged and send it when you are back online, so you never lose an entry standing in a basement or a barn. The web app needs a connection and will show an error with a retry instead.
Check the time zone under More, on the phone or the web. WagWatch stamps events in your chosen time zone so a household spread across two zones still reads one consistent day. Times display in your device's own 12-hour or 24-hour format.
A household is the shared record. Everyone in it sees the same pets, the same events, and the same history — which is the point: the pet sitter's note and your partner's medication dose land in one place.
On the web app: open More, then Household, and use Copy link or Share on the invite link. Send it however you like — the person opens it, signs in or creates an account, and joins your household. The plain code sits under the link if you would rather send that. Only the household owner can create, replace or revoke the link.
On iPhone and Android: open More, then Household. The phone shows an invite code rather than a link today — tap Copy and send the code. Sharing a link straight from the phone is coming in a later update.
An invite works once and lasts 7 days. It is used up the moment someone joins, so make a new one for the next person — New link on the web, Regenerate on the phone. Either way, the previous invite stops working.
Where that code goes depends on who you sent it to. Someone new to WagWatch enters it while setting up their account, on the Join with invite code step. Someone who already has their own household and pets joins a different way: More, then Household, then Switch household. Tell them to read that confirmation before they tap it — if they are the only person in their own household, their pets and history move with them and their old household closes.
No — give them a temporary pass instead. On the web app, open More, then Household, and choose Give someone access: their email address, and for how long, from one day to thirty. They keep their own account and their own pets; for those days they can also see your pets, today's entries and the current medication schedule, and add entries of their own.
They cannot see your history, your trends, your photos, the Weekly Review, the AI assistant, your vet reports or your billing. The pass ends by itself on the day you chose, and you can end it sooner from the same screen. Up to five people at once, and only the household owner can grant one. They need a WagWatch account already — it is free.
Temporary passes work on the web app today, for you and for them. The phone apps get them in a later update.
The free plan covers one pet. Premium covers unlimited pets. On iPhone or Android, open the More tab and tap Add Pet. On the web app, open More, then Pets, and choose + Add another pet. Once you have more than one, the pill at the top of the screen switches between them.
Each household has one owner — the person who created it. Only the owner can remove a member, transfer ownership, or delete the household. Anyone can leave a household they joined.
The pet moves with its complete history. Nothing is lost, and the people in the household you left no longer see it.
Reminders are for medications and routines. Set them anywhere — phone or web — and they are delivered as push notifications to your phone. Tapping one opens the reminder itself, with a one-tap button to log the dose.
Not today. You can create and edit reminders on the web, but delivery goes to the mobile apps. This is the one place the web and mobile apps deliberately differ.
Premium is $24.99 a year or $3.99 a month, with a 14-day free trial. It adds:
On iPhone and Android, subscribe inside the app under More, then WagWatch Premium. Payment goes through the App Store or Google Play using the payment method already on your store account.
There is no way to buy Premium on the web app yet. Subscribe on a phone and it unlocks everywhere you sign in, the web included — one subscription covers your whole household.
Subscriptions are managed by the store, not by us. On iPhone: open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose WagWatch, then Cancel. On Android: open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the renewal; Premium stays active until the period you already paid for ends.
App Store offer codes (the kind we hand out for launches and make-goods) are redeemed in the App Store, not in the app: open the link we sent you, or open the App Store, tap your profile picture, choose Redeem Gift Card or Code, and enter it. The subscription then appears in WagWatch automatically.
WagWatch promo codes are redeemed on the web app at app.wagwatch.app, under More, then Premium. The Premium it grants applies everywhere you sign in, including your phone.
Nothing is deleted. Your history, photos, and pets all stay. You simply go back to the free plan's view — the last 90 days, one pet — and everything reappears if you subscribe again.
The widget puts your pet's quick-log tiles on the Home Screen — a behavior note, a potty break, a meal. Tap one and the app opens straight to that form with the type already chosen, so logging is one tap and a save rather than a hunt through the app. The small widget logs one thing of your choosing: long-press it, choose Edit Widget, and pick the action — medications included.
Long-press an empty spot on your Home Screen, tap the plus button, search for WagWatch, and add the widget. To pin it to one pet, long-press the widget itself, choose Edit Widget, and pick the pet. A widget you leave unset follows whichever pet is selected in the app, which is what most people with a single pet want. Each pet keeps its own check marks.
Widgets refresh on a schedule iOS controls, so a change can take a moment to appear. Open the app once to force a refresh. If a widget still shows the wrong pet, long-press it, choose Edit Widget, and confirm the pet selection. Check marks reset each day.
Two different things help at an appointment, and they work together.
A share link is a read-only web page of your pet's recent history that you can send to your vet. They do not need an account or the app. Links expire automatically after 30 days. There is no way to cancel one early yet, so treat a share link like anything else you email — send it only to the person who needs it.
A one-tap AI summary of the last 90 days, with suggested questions to ask. Generate it from Trends, then copy it into an email or read it off your phone in the room.
The link is unguessable and read-only, and it stops working the day it expires — 30 days after you create it. There is no way to cancel one early yet, so treat it like any link you would email: anyone who has it can open it, so send it only to your vet.
One account works everywhere — iPhone, Android and the web app — and everything syncs.
Yes — alongside an ordinary email and password. Your account is identified by its email address, so Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook and a password all land on the same WagWatch account, as long as they give us the same address. The one to watch is Apple's Hide My Email: it hands us a private relay address instead of your real one, so signing in that way creates a separate account from the one your real address uses. Pick one way in and stick with it.
Continue with Facebook is on the web app and on Android today, and reaches the iPhone app with the next App Store update.
Yes. Open More, then Language, and choose Español — on the phone or on the web. Every screen is translated, and so are your reminder notifications, the Monday digest and our emails about your subscription. Two things stay in English for now: the sign-up and password-reset code emails, and the AI assistant, which answers in whichever language you write to it. The choice is stored on your account, so it follows you to every device you sign in on. A share link you send opens in whatever language your vet's own browser is set to.
Not from inside the app. Your email is how your account is identified, and it is fixed when the account is created. Write to support@wagwatch.app and we will help you move to a new address. You can change your display name and your password at any time — under More, on either.
On iPhone or Android, open More, then Export Data. You get a ZIP archive containing both JSON and CSV files, so it opens in a spreadsheet or feeds into anything else you use.
On the web app, open More, then Export Data, for the same complete ZIP archive. If you only want the range you are looking at, the History page still exports that view as a CSV, and your pet's medication list too. Export is free on every plan and covers your whole history, not just the free plan's last 90 days.
More, then Delete Account — on iPhone, on Android, or on the web app. You type DELETE to confirm, and it removes your account and its data. Here is exactly what that deletes, including how it affects a household you share.
We use it to run the app for you, and we do not sell it.
The AI features — the assistant, the Weekly Review, the insights in the Monday digest and the vet-visit report — work by sending what you have logged to a model. That model is Claude, run through Amazon Bedrock inside our own AWS account, in the same region as the rest of your data. Your pet's information is not used to train any model, and it is not shared with any other company. The assistant can also look at up to three photos you attached to entries, if you ask it about something you photographed; the Weekly Review, the Monday digest and the vet summary read text only and send no photo at all. If you never open the assistant and never generate a report, nothing is sent. The privacy policy has the full detail.
AI answers are generated from your own records. They are not veterinary advice, and WagWatch is not a substitute for a vet.
Yes. More, then Biometric unlock, uses Face ID, Touch ID, or your fingerprint reader, depending on the device. You need a biometric already enrolled in the operating system.
Photo attachments are a Premium feature, so first check your plan. Then check that WagWatch is allowed access to your photos in your device settings, and that you have a connection — photos upload as you pick them, unlike the rest of a queued entry.
More, then Appearance, on the phone or the web. WagWatch defaults to the light theme on every platform; System and Dark are opt-in. If something looks unreadable in dark mode, send us a screenshot — that is a bug, and we fix those quickly.
Send us a message, or email support@wagwatch.app. Include the email address on your account and what you were doing when the problem happened — it gets you a useful answer in one round trip instead of three.
